Rod Christie, Executive Director - Rod has a MS in Wildlife Biology and more than 25 years of experience working in wildlife ecology, natural resource protection, and education at the State level and with public and private education facilities. He has extensive work with land trusts, public agencies and private landowners on land and water protection projects. Rod is also a consultant to land trusts, town government boards, and local corporations regarding wildlife management, watershed protection and open space planning. At the MRGP, he is responsible for land acquisition and protection throughout the Mianus watershed.
Mark Weckel, Preserve Manager - Mark was born in 1980 in Brooklyn, NY. He received his B.S. and M.S from Fordham University. For his master’s thesis he explored jaguar-prey interactions in the Cockscomb Basin, Belize. In addition, to his work at the Gorge, Mark is currently is pro-bono Research Supervisor for the Sri Lanka Wildlife Conservation Society Leopard Project. He is currently pursuing his Ph.D. at the City University of New York, studying white-tailed deer social structure and management in suburbia.
Chris Nagy, Assistant Preserve Manager - Chris received his B.A. from SUNY Albany in 1999, and his M.S. from Fordham University in 2004. He is currently studying eastern screech owl population dynamics in urban and suburban habitats at the City University of New York. He has been working at the Gorge since 2003.
