Trails

The Gorge is a private preserve, not a public park. Our trails are open only to hiking and do not allow dogs, biking, skiing, or any other type of recreation. While we understand this can be an inconvenience, the rewards are many. Our hiking paths are narrow and winding, well kept, yet rugged. Visitors have the experience of a remote wilderness within an hour's distance from one of the world’s largest cities. It is very important we impart this experience to all our visitors.

We invite you to enjoy our over 2.5 miles of trails from April 1 to November 31 (closed until April 7th in 2007). We are closed for the winter when we allow our trails to rest and our limited staff to focus on the research, education, and land protection that makes the Gorge a special and unique resource.
