- 8/18/2009 - We apologize for the delay in posting maps of your sightings. We've
been busy trying to get our database up and running. Maps will be up soon. We
promise!
- 8/15/2009 - Unfortunately, some of the deer tagged in 2008 have lost their
earrings. Therefore, Mark has been retagging deer. This year each deer gets
lighter earrings, and an-ultra lightweight collar (to hold the little radio chip).
- 8/1/2009 - Lucky Ginger? Both Lucky and Ginger lost their ear tags this winter.
Today, I recapture a deer that is either Lucky or Ginger. (I'll have to wait for genetic
tests to resolve this little problem). In the mean time, the re-tagged deer, donning a
yellow and blue earrings, is Lucky Ginger. Sorry for the confusion!
- 4/1/2009 - Mark Weckel will begin tranquilizing deer come this April. He will be
patrolling the Gorge boundaries in a Toyota Green Pickup truck. Stop him and say
hello!
